As I write this in early July Twinstead sit 2nd in the Hunts County Bats League Division 5 hot on the heels of the leader after a great start to the season with 8 wins from the opening 10 league games. There are 6 league games to go and we have already exceeded our number of wins from last season when we finished in 4th place. The Saturday Friendly side has enjoyed 3 wins also and been involved in some excellent matches involving our talented junior players.
It’s been great seeing lots of local people up at the ground when a home match is on enjoying the cricket and a drink from the pavilion bar.
Sunday July 9th is the Dog Show at the ground and some of us will be at the ground serving drinks and enjoying the show. Please come along and say hello. Twinstead Cricket Club has traditionally received a fee for the use of the ground for this event but we have decided to forego the fee for the show and request that the fee be donated to Twinstead Church and the Village Hall each year the Dog Show is held. This is a small token of the club’s appreciation to the local community and we hope to be able to help the local community a lot more going forwards. If you have any suggestions such as a village cricket match, a church fete etc. then please do not hesitate to contact me.
Please carry on enjoying the cricket, the ground and the facilities.
See out post on upcoming fixtures.
